My plan with Shades of the Wild, is an ongoing monthly series showcasing at least one amazing animal each month that doesn't get the spotlight like the more common or popular species do.

This may be because they are lesser known, disliked or feared. It may be they are not considered cute, or even called 'ugly'. Some suffer with a bad reputation from the way they are portrayed in movies and the media.
As an artist, I’ve naturally gravitated toward animals I find beautiful, fascinating, or personally meaningful—ones that also resonate with others. Nothing wrong with this! It's completely natural to be drawn to what you like! These tend to also sell better from a professional perspective because people already feel a connection to them. But I wanted to challenge myself and push beyond those familiar choices.
So I decided to create a series that pushes those boundaries, and will allow me to explore some of the animals I would overlook for my artworks, or those I didn't even know about.

This is an opportunity to learn, appreciate, and share the wonder of these unsung creatures.

This does not mean I plan to keep them secret and hidden from the outside world, as part of my intention is to shine the spotlight on these animals! I'll share sneak peeks on the artworks and occasional reveals on my social media, and we can all learn about the animals together!
