Framing and Display guide
If you are here after purchasing one of my prints, I thankyou so much for your support!
On this page you'll find tips to make the process of framing your new prints simple and enjoyable. Framing can enhance the beauty of your artwork, transforming it into a stunning focal point in your home. A well chosen frame should compliment, and not distract from the artwork.
Natural wood frames often complement my prints beautifully, though some pieces also suit darker, lighter, or even white frames.
A common temptation is to choose a frame to match your home décor. While it’s important that your print works in your space, I encourage you to first consider what best complements the artwork. Once you’ve done that, you can find options that also fit the style of your home.

Each print comes professionally matted (mounted) for protection and presentation, using standard sizes that fit into ready-made frames, so you can display your artwork quickly and confidently.
If your budget allows, professional framing can really elevate both the artwork and your space. The custom choices and quality of materials are unmatched.

Print to Frame sizes
A note on Square Prints:
8x8" and 10x10" prints are currently being transitioned to 9x9" and 12x12" sizes.
I originally created my prints in a 10x10" format to match the size of many of my original artworks, with 8x8" as a smaller option. However, I've since found the frame sizes for these prints can be a little harder to find in-store, and so I’m gradually transitioning to sizes that hopefully make framing more convenient. All sizes can be found on-line.
Australia also uses the metric system. Frames labeled as 30cm should fit the matted 9x9" prints. Frames labeled as 40cm should fit the matted 12x12" prints.
Please see 'Fitting your print' below if you have trouble with an exact fit.

Fitting Your Print
Before placing your print into its new frame, clean the glass and ensure it’s completely dry before fitting the artwork.
I have found actual frame sizes can vary slightly, and some designs have fold-over tabs that make the fit feel a little tight.
Please don’t force the print, this can cause creasing or damage. If you’re having trouble, your local framer will be happy to help ensure it’s fitted safely and securely. For a small charge they can make any adjustments for a perfect fit.
Ready made frames can be found in many places instore and online,
some instore options include:
Spotlight, Red Dot Home, Ikea, Target, Big W and other homeware stores.
Custom-Made Frames
Online custom framing is also available, for example, through Framefox.
www.framefox.com.au
While the range may be more limited than professional in-store framing, online options allow you to choose exact sizing and other custom features. The frame is then made to order and shipped directly to you, ready for you to fit your print inside.

Professional Framing
Framing is highly personal, with many styles and ways to display artwork. For this reason, I don’t include framing with my prints and present them matted and ready to frame.
While ready-made frames are convenient, they have limitations. I highly recommend professional framing to truly elevate your artwork and create a lasting display.
Benefits of Professional Framing:
-
Wide variety of custom frames tailored to suit and fit your artwork perfectly.
-
Additional matting options that enhance the piece, including 2- or 3-layer mats for a unique look.
-
High-quality, archival materials for preservation.
-
Option for museum-grade glass, offering non-reflective surfaces and superior UV protection.

Display and Care Advice
It's up to you how you would like to display your new prints!
Some tips to keep in mind however:
Best display locations:
-
In a space with indirect natural light
-
Away from heat sources like fireplaces
-
Hung securely with sturdy hooks suitable for the wall type
-
At eye level, ideally with soft lighting to enhance the artwork
Avoid placing prints:
-
In direct sunlight or harsh spotlights (even with UV glass, long-term exposure can fade pigments)
-
In damp areas like bathrooms or near kitchens where moisture fluctuates
Caring for Your Print
-
Handle carefully: Always by the matt edges, avoid touching the print surface.
-
Keep dry: Store flat in its protective sleeve until framed.
-
Dust gently: Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth on the frame and glass - never spray cleaners directly on the glass.
-
Long-term care: If displaying for years, consider UV-filter/museum grade glass to protect from light exposure.
